About

The Author

Dear Clara: The Story of a Shattered Family is Kathleen Burge’s debut novel. Kathleen has spent her life working with and loving the written word. After graduating from the University of California at Santa Barbara, she taught English in Kenya with the Peace Corps. She then became a reporter, columnist and editor for regional newspapers before teaching English, writing and history in public schools for over two decades.

She is married to Mike, a fellow Peace Corps volunteer and lover of writing, and together they have three grown children.

When not home in her garden, she enjoys traveling, especially to see her children who are often away on their own adventures.
